"A woman's heart should be so hidden in God that a man has to seek Him just to find her." --Maya Angelou

This quote has resonated with me for years. The meaning has essentially remained the same until recently. I am grateful for the seasons of life coupled with divine revelation and a daily renewed mind that have given me a deeper understanding.

On the way to get my Tinkerbelle some dog food, I had a spiritual epiphany. If the woman's heart is hidden in God, that means she is actively nourishing a relationship with Him. If the man has to seek God for instructions as to how to gain and capture her attention, that is an indication that he too has a relationship with God or will cultivate it to establish deeper roots in Him in order to gain access to her. The result-the spiritual match is established on the solid Rock of God in Christ with the guidance of the Word and Holy Spirit.

Individually, the two are whole in mind, body, and spirit. Collectively, they complement the other's gift(s) for an impactful purpose in the secular and Christian world.

The secular world has been consulted/referenced for far too long in regards to establishing solid, healthy, and meaningful relationships. We refer/defer to other human beings, rather than the Divine Creator. Let's challenge ourselves to consider, ponder, and process principles and concepts that may be foreign to us. Every single time I have done so in relation to God, my life has changed for the better.

Be healthy. Be happy. Be whole.

Affirmations:

I accept the challenge to establish deeper roots in God in order to receive the blessings for my life.

I trust the process of establishing those roots knowing that the shedding, purging, and pruning are for an impactful purpose.

Breaking for a Purpose

“Breaking for a Purpose”

When God breaks us, it is so we can be free in mind, body, and spirit. When we break down others, or ourselves it results in the diminishing in mind, body, and spirit.

This thought came to me last night, but I did not get a chance to really ponder it. After a little time, it is making more and more sense. Hurting people hurt people, or hurting people create walls to make it hard for others to cross. In each case, the person is trying to protect his/her heart. As a result, this state of mind and spirit heavily influences one's actions. The stance is fear. Our own personal experience, our developmental years, and our current thought process stifle Opportunity and experience.  As a result, this informs us about what we say and do.

If we are not careful, we venture through life trying to be happy; however, the full measure of happiness is not achieved because we live and operate in the bondage of our fears.

Some of our fears are created, as a result of our environment (beyond our control at times), while others develop, as we nurture negativity, sadness, and the like. For example, my parents divorced when I was a baby and through my developmental years into my high school and adult life, I have subconsciously nurtured the fear of someone I care about leaving. This coupled with experiences of rejection left me with the personal need to be open to others, while simultaneously being closed. I prepared myself, no matter the type of relationship, for disappointment because in my mind that prevented me from getting hurt—well at least kept me from experiencing the maximum level of hurt. I can think of a number of times where I prepared myself, and in that I am sure I missed moments of pure happiness and enjoyment.

Recently, I decided to stop nurturing my fears. With months even a few years of thought, I decided to take some steps to help me get to the root my abandonment issue. This is especially important to me individually and relationship wise with regard to my future family. I deserve to be a whole and complete Jasmin, my loved ones and future loved ones deserve a whole and complete Jasmin, and those I have yet to meet in order to serve deserve a whole and complete Jasmin.

This extended thought process has been challenging and exhilarating. Each step propels for toward the attainment of my dreams and goals of yesteryears. I am grateful.

My prayer is that you have read something that triggers you to begin the journey for being whole in mind, body, and spirit. We have one life, and we should live it on and in purpose knowing that we are responsible for our own happiness. The quest for ‘life more abundantly’ begins when we accept the love of our Creator and receive the fact that we are worthy to be loved.

Affirmation:

I deserve to be a whole and complete *Insert your Wonderful Name*.

My loved ones and future loved ones deserve a whole and complete *Insert your Wonderful Name*.

Those I have yet to meet in order to serve deserve a whole and complete *Insert your Wonderful Name*.
